2021 CRUISE SEASON SUSPENDED
2021 CRUISE SEASON SUSPENDED
On February 4, 2021, Transport Canada extended its safety measures for cruise ships effectively cancelling the 2021 season in Canadian waters. Please click here for the full announcement. It is critical for all Canadian ports to work together with industry, communities, and all government levels to restore confidence in cruising and ensure the safe resumption of cruise business in Atlantic Canada. We’re optimistic that, when the time is right, cruise will be back and stronger than ever. We look forward welcoming cruise ships, their guests, and crew back to our port cities.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Association of Canadian Port Authorities (ACPA) Cruise Committee has launched a historic initiative that brings together port authorities, regional associations, and other cruise ports from across Canada. The purpose of the ACPA Cruise Committee is to engage as one voice in meaningful dialogue for the restart of Canada’s cruise operations.
As such, we are working closely with Transport Canada and the Public Health Agency of Canada to develop and adopt consistent safety protocols to protect Canadians and visitors alike. We support the government’s efforts and are working hard to do our part.
