Four-to-Seven-day Cruises from Boston

When Carnival Glory departs from Boston for Atlantic Canada next year, it will offer a variety of new dining, bar and entertainment options that are being added during a dry dock in November 2012 as part of the line’s ongoing “Fun Ship 2.0” enhancement program.

Carnival Glory’s 2013 schedule from Boston will encompass four-day cruises to Saint John, New Brunswick, departing Sundays and five-day voyages to Saint John and Halifax, Nova Scotia, departing Tuesdays and Thursdays, from June 4 to July 7.

The Seatrade Insider awards presented were at Schmidts Tivoli Theatre in Hamburg, Germany. René Trépanier, Executive Director of Cruise the Saint Lawrence and Chair of Cruise Canada New England, accepted a plaque on behalf of the Cruise Canada New England Alliance for a highly commended contribution to Destination of the Year as a finalist.

Stonehammer First Global Geopark in North America

The Stonehammer Geopark, located in southern New Brunswick, has become the first North American member of the UNESCO –supported Global Geoparks Network (GGN). The announcement was made late Sunday at the 9th Annual European Geoparks Conference in Lesvos, Greece by the GGN Bureau. With the acceptance of the Stonehammer Geopark application, the GGN has 77 members in 24 countries throughout Europe, Asia, South America, Australia, the Middle East and now North America.

Halifax Reaches Cruise Milestone

October 21, 2010 – Halifax, N.S. - The Port of Halifax reached a cruise milestone today with over a quarter million passengers visiting the port this season. This means a significant economic benefit with an estimated expenditure of $50 million from passenger, crew, and cruise lines to our local area. Today there are four cruise ships docked at the Port of Halifax, with a total passenger capacity of 10,000.

This year’s cruise season started on April 27th and finishes on October 30th.
